Resources - Article: Valentine's Day Treat – Better than Chocolate
By Lynn "Phoenix" Marks - The Messenger
Coach, Speaker, Author

February has long been a month of romance. February 14 is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other. The day is most closely associated with the mutual exchange of love notes in the form of "valentines."

Whether you are exchanging valentines today with others or not, please consider taking time to exchange one with your self, perhaps your higher self or your authentic self. I invite you to consciously focus them on love -- seeing, thinking and feeling love for yourself. It’s valuable to acknowledge who we are. If there are some attributes you would like to be more of, simply start seeing and feeling them inside you now. Our external world reflects our inner thoughts and feelings. If you are like me want more love -- and all its cousins – in every part of your life it starts with raising our feelings of love for our self. Allow love to catapult your life to the next level. Remember, everything is energy and therefore, you attract more of whatever energy level you are vibrating at now. Make it love.

Here are three exercises to grow your inner love to the next level:

1. Express love to yourself. Write the poem, the affirmation. Start with who you are. Perhaps something like: I LOVE THAT
• I am a radiating center of love in all my thoughts, actions and feelings
•  I am blessed with good friends and clients
•  I am resilient and grow more peaceful and prosperous    weathering the storms of live with more and more grace while growing my faith
•  I am a clear vessel of love and inspired wisdom
•  I am creative beyond my greatest dreams
•  I am a magnet for all things positive
•  I am graced with perfect health
•  I am blessed with a prosperous business
•  I am

2. Consider a personal mantra. Repeat it from your heart internally while walking your dog or driving the car or anytime you think of it.
I love
I am love
Loved am I.

3. Answer the Valentine’s Day Question. What is the most loving thing I can do for myself today, this week, this month, this quarter, this year? Pick one or all the options. Allow yourself to respond from your heart, not your ego. Be like a child who knows no limits and really doesn’t understand the word “no”. Perhaps take a moment or two to go inside, meditate on an uplifting, joyful experience that makes you smile from the inside-out. Now ask the question. Then open your eyes and write the response using the opposite hand than you usually write with. Now be your own perfect lover—gift yourself the answer to your question. There is a way. Believe. Know that this gift is far sweeter than a box of the best chocolate.
